Protein quality control and stress response

We want to understand the mechanisms of proteome homeostasis (proteostasis), i.e., how cells achieve the synthesis of correctly folded functional proteins, and how they avoid the build-up of potentially toxic protein aggregates. To that end, we use a combination of biochemical, fluorescence-based, and advanced mass spectrometry methods to characterize proteostasis pathways in human cell culture models.
